Getting Ready for Christmas

Hey guys! I know I’ve been slacking on here, and I apologize but I’m working on it. I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving with your loved ones. The weekend before Thanksgiving I took a sudden trip to LA to visit my brother, who I hadn’t seen in over three years. I can’t begin to explain how happy I was to see his face, to hear his voice, and catch up with him. While in LA I got to spend some time with my family, which was much needed. Back home, I was greeted by my boyfriend and my kiddos at the Greyhound Bus Station. The next few days consisted of preparing our home for all the guest we were expecting for our Thanksgiving dinner. This time of year reminds me that even though I don’t have everything I want, I have everything I need, and for that I’m so thankful.

Now, it’s time to prepare for Christmas! I wanted to get a head start on my Christmas shopping this year so I did some online shopping on Black Friday, and got some amazing deals. Which reminds me, I want to share with you guys how you can earn money when shopping online. I’m sure some of you already know what I’m talking about, it’s an app called Ebates. This app literally pays you to shop through their website, and it’s completely FREE. I definitely recommend that you guys check it out, if you haven’t already.

Year after year, I print out a Christmas wish list for my oldest son and we mail it to Santa on the first of December. As he gets older, I try to remind him that Christmas is not just about receiving gifts, but also about giving back, and about being with family. I also made a Christmas budget so I can keep track of all of my expenses during the holidays. My Happy Planner also helps me stay organized. I’d love to hear how you guys stay organized during this time of year. Please share in the comments below. Thanks for reading.

Welcome, November!

Happy first of the month! October was such a busy month for me, it just flew by. However, Halloween was a fun time. We took the boys trick or treating around the block, ate tacos with the family and then got into some candies. My oldest son was a Ninja this year, and my little one was Mickey Mouse. Such cuties!

With all that I had going on last month, my monthly goals got kind of placed on the back burner. I’m so glad we’re in November. New month, new mindset. The weather has gotten so much cooler and I can finally wear boots. Plus, I can start decorating for the holidays! Who else loves decorating for the holidays? This month I just want to concentrate on improving all aspects of my life.

Starting with this book, which I’ve heard amazing things about. My goal is to read two books this month. I also want to improve my overall health. Healthy mom, equals healthy family. Which means, more home cooked meals, more water, and being more active.

I hope you all had a Happy Halloween. What are some of your monthly goals? Share in the comments below. Thanks for reading.

Weekend Recap

This weekend was such a success! All the planning, and stress was well worth it. My son’s second birthday party was a Mickey Mouse theme. I’m still trying to catch up on my sleep after this busy weekend. I did DIY most of the party decorations (with some help from my sisters). On our invitations, we did ask our guests to wear their favorite Mickey shirt. I also bought Mickey and Minnie mouse ears to give out(mainly to kids).

We also had a photo booth, sadly I didn’t get any good pictures of it but you can see the frames (on the pic above) that were made. A lot of these decorations were inspired by Pinterest, super easy to make.

The cake was a burnt almond flavor, and it was enormous! The piñata was also a decent size, my boys had a blast with it.

My family traveled from Los Angeles to be here for the weekend. They live six hours away, so it meant a lot having them here. We had a full house, six of my siblings were here, my mom, and my nephew.img_4871

My mom, my sisters and I all have matching tattoos, so of course we had to take a picture of it. It’s only been a day since they left, and I miss them so much already!

How did you spend your weekend? Thank you for reading.

Everyday Makeup Routine

Today I want to share with you guys my everyday makeup routine. I recently added a couple of new products, and let me just say, they make a hell of a difference. All of these products are really affordable. I’m all about getting a bang for my buck (the prices may vary depending where you purchase it).

L’Oreal True Match Foundation| $8.99| I’ve mentioned this foundation before, it’s my go to foundation. I’d say it’s medium to full coverage. Absolute favorite drugstore foundation.

Maybelline the Colossal Volum’ Mascara| $5.99| I’ve used this mascara since I was in high school, and I still love it.

ELF Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder| $3.99| To be honest, this is one of two bronzers I own. They’ve lasted for quite some time, so I can’t compare to any other but, it works very well and you can’t beat the price.

NYX Micro Brow Pencil| $9.99| This pencil was one of my newest additions, and I’m loving it! I’ve tried other drugstore pencils, they didn’t suffice. I moved on to brow powder, and after a while it began to have a lot of fall out. This pencil works great, stays on all day, and doesn’t smear.

Benefit the POREfessional Mini Primer| $12.00| This primer is the first high end that I use. I’m not one to splurge on make-up too often, I decided to try this mini primer before committing to the full size. Yes, I will definitely be purchasing the full size once I’m done with this one. I recommend trying this primer, especially if you have oily skin.

Rimmel London Match Perfection Concealer & Highlighter| $5.99| What I love about this concealer is that it does not crease. I’d say this concealer is medium coverage.

Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder| $3.99| Whether I’m looking for extra coverage or simply setting my foundation, this does the job. Plus, the price is amazing.

I also want to mention the brushes I use on a daily basis, which are also very affordable and work amazing.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush| $8.99| I bought this brush back when I first got really into make up and it’s lasted me since. Amazing brush, very dense. Works great to apply foundation or to pack on powder.

Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush (can only be bought in a kit)| $17.99| I love using this brush to define my face where I want to contour.

ELF Angled Blush Brush| $4.00| ELF makes great brushes, for a great price. This brush works great to apply blush or to bronze.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge|$6.99| This is my second time purchasing this sponge(I don’t know what happen to my first one). I love this sponge! In my opinion, it works better than the beauty blender sponge.

First Day of Fall

Image-1 (9).jpg

We’re officially in Fall! My all time favorite season. I just love everything about it. Cooler weather, wearing boots, oversized sweaters. Thanksgiving! My favorite holiday. Halloween! Who else still dresses up for Halloween? I know I do. Unfortunately, where I live it’s still very warm. Today however, was such a beautiful day. We took our boys to the park to burn off some energy. Somehow, while I was running after my youngest, I bumped my toe and chipped my nail. Ouch!

I have so much going on this fall, including our little ones second birthday party. I can’t believe it’s just a few weeks away. I’ve been having so much fun DIY’ing all sorts of things for his party, which is what I spent most of my morning working on today. Can you guess what the theme is? I’ll give you a hint.. We have ears! I will be sharing with you guys all of my DIY’s and party supplies in an upcoming post.

What’s your favorite thing about Fall? Share in the comments. Thanks for reading.
